CAP Diagnostic Framework™
Assessing Your Organization's Transformation Readiness
How to Use This Diagnostic Tool
This assessment helps you evaluate your organization's current state across all dimensions of the CAP Framework. Follow these steps:
- Rate each component on a scale of 1-10 based on your organization's current capabilities
- Calculate dimension averages by dividing the sum of component scores by three
- Determine your organization's maturity stage for each dimension
- Calculate your overall CAP maturity score
- Use the results to identify priority areas for development in your transformation journey
Competency (C)
Accessibility (A)
Potentiation (P)
Overall CAP Maturity Calculation
Overall CAP Score = (Competency Average + Accessibility Average + Potentiation Average) ÷ 3
This places your organization in an overall maturity stage based on the scale above.
Interpreting Your Results
Balanced Profile: If scores across all dimensions are similar, focus on advancing all three dimensions concurrently to maintain balance.
Unbalanced Profile: If there are significant differences between dimension scores (2+ points), prioritize improving the lowest-scoring dimension first, as it may be limiting the effectiveness of stronger dimensions.
Component Analysis: Within each dimension, identify the lowest-scoring component to target specific improvement opportunities.
Next Steps: For dimensions in the Nascent or Developing stages, refer to the corresponding Implementation Journey sections in the CAP Framework™ document for targeted improvement strategies.
Example Organization Profile
Dimension | Component | Rating (1-10) | Average | Maturity Stage |
---|---|---|---|---|
Competency | Technical | 7 | 6.7 | Established |
Contextual | 8 | |||
Adaptive | 5 | |||
Accessibility | Cognitive | 4 | 4.3 | Developing |
Structural | 6 | |||
Cultural | 3 | |||
Potentiation | Sequential | 3 | 3.0 | Developing |
Structural | 4 | |||
Cultural | 2 | |||
Overall CAP Maturity | 4.7 | Developing |
Interpretation: This organization has relatively strong competencies but significant gaps in accessibility and potentiation. This suggests existing expertise isn't being fully leveraged or amplified. The priority should be improving Cultural Accessibility (3) and Cultural Potentiation (2), as these are the lowest scores and may be limiting overall transformation effectiveness.
